An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer - Valves, Pumps, Coolers and Vessels Producibility to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. As part of the Engineering Producibility Team, a Mechanical Engineer is expected to influence new designs using New Product Introduction tools with a primary focus on manufacturability of product designs as well as continually improving upon existing product designs to strive for improved Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery.

Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
Liaise with other departments such as Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure delivery of parts to set timescales and targeted costs

Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g. Possess a general understanding of mechanical design topics (such as application of standards, materials and analysis methods) and safety principles. Experience in the nuclear industry or another highly regulated industry is advantageous, but training can be provided.
NX, Teamcenter, CAPP, SAP) relevant to the business is desirable.
Have a good understanding of engineering processes relevant to their role i.e. Have good communication, planning and coordination skills to manage relationships and influence internally and externally to the department.
