Europa is based in Luton and this role is a hybrid role with weekly attendance to Luton. The Role Europa is a well-established player in the electrical wholesale market, known for distributing a comprehensive array of products. As we continue to grow, we're on the lookout for a talented Product Engineer to join our team. The Product Engineer role is integral to the Europa team with responsibility for the day-to-day design, management and fulfilment of customer requests that cannot be satisfied via Europa’s existing product portfolio. If you have experience in Residential and Commercial circuit protection systems, including Consumer Units, TPN Distribution Boards, and associated switchgear and protection devices such as MCB’s RCCB’s and RCBO’S, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. In return we will offer you a competitive salary from £36,000 per annum dependant upon experience, Compnaywide Bonus scheme, 23 days holiday which increases with service & the option to purchase more, increased pension contribution, BUPA private healthcare with the option to add family members, 3 x life assurance & EAP, companywide bonus scheme, free onsite parking useful for travel from Luton Airport. Principal Role requirements of Product Engineer

  • Responsible for communications between customers and internal stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions address the brief in a manner that is cost effective to the client but commercially attractive for Europa
  • Adept at effectively managing all customer bespoke requests, queries, and enquiries from initial design through product generation and into the production phase.
  • Comfortable in multi-tasking, managing email requests and answering telephone enquiries in parallel.
  • Able to quickly report product or component supply issues to senior management ideally with a proposed solution.
  • Interface and support colleagues in other product related departments by raising issues and awareness of any potential barriers to delivery.
  • Work alongside sales and marketing to support the promotion of custom solutions.
  • Assist in the production of detailed design specifications for new products, including the provision of detailed research into new markets and technologies.
  • Working with internal project teams to deliver new products in a timely manner
  • Providing technical guidance and bespoke activity updates for Europa team members as appropriate.
Experience and Knowledge requirements - While knowledge/experience within an electrical environment is a plus, we value enthusiasm and a can-do attitude above all. Here's what we're looking for:
  • Strong verbal and written English, logical working knowledge of IT systems.
  • Knowledge of, and competence in Autocad.
  • An understanding of practical assembly and legislative framework that governs the electrical industry.
  • Willing to work within a collaborative environment, but also demonstrate an ability to work alone as needed, taking ownership of the bespoke offer.
  • Positive, can-do and team orientated attitude even when under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of the electrical component industry. (nice to have)
  • Experience of technical sales in an electrical or similar environment. (nice to have)
  • Educational background within electrical engineering. (nice to have)
