Our client has a successful track record in delivering high quality construction projects across various sectors including commercial, education, industrial, and leisure and have a strong reputation for excellence.
Office based in Bedfordshire
The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, working on both new build and refurbishment projects ranging in value from £1,000,000 to £8,000,000. Reporting directly to the Directors, the successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of the company by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for prospective projects.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for new build and refurbishment projects in commercial, education, industrial and leisure sectors
Managing pre qualification, quality and pre bid submissions
Conduct thorough cost analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of estimates
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to embed a relationship culture and obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms
Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects, proposing effective mitigation strategies
Identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process
Work closely with the Managing Estimator and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives
Supporting junior members of the estimating, surveying and pre construction team
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field preferred but not essential
* Experience of pricing projects – both single and two stage tenders and negotiated opportunities
* Proficient in relevant estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
* Car driver
