Nottingham, United Kingdom Your Housing Group Full time

This is an exciting opportunity for a Contract Manager to join Your Housing Groups Repairs and Maintenance Division and make a huge impact in shaping the way we deliver our services.

Working for a Housing Association can be extremely rewarding, and we are lucky to have a hugely collaborative team throughout all Trade professions, who work together to ensure that our customers are safe and warm in their homes.

You will play an instrumental role leading delivery of our repairs service, leveraging your previous experience in leading a customer focused repairs team to help drive increasing service excellence and adherence to compliance and operational standards.

As a Contract Manager, you are part of the Your Housing repairs management team, therefore you will thrive in taking full responsibility for delivering a high performing repairs and maintenance service. You will support with continuing our success by driving a customer focused, efficient and effective in-house delivery and supply chain, proactively mixing tried and tested and new ways of working, to deliver our continuous improvement targets.

We are looking for driven customer focused, people manager with excellent communication skills to work to deliver a high quality repairs service.

What will my working week look like?

You will be homebased based, living within the Northwest, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses when needed. Realistically, you will be required to visit our Head Office and be out within the region managing the workforce two to three times a week.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will have an instrumental role leading delivery of our repairs service, leveraging your previous experience in leading a customer focused repairs team to help drive increasing service excellence and ensure adherence to compliance and operational standards.

One of the great things about this role is it provides an opportunity to thrive in taking full responsibility for delivering a high performing repairs and maintenance service. You will support with continuing our success by being customer focused, owning performance management, both of in-house delivery and supply chain, proactively mixing tried and tested and new ways of working, to deliver our continuous improvement targets.

As a member of the repairs and maintenance management team, you will coach and develop a number of supervisors and other teams, but just as important you will be a visible and a proactive leader across the broader repairs team and the Group - confident and able to both influence and consult as a critical friend to a wide range of senior internal stakeholders, external partners and suppliers.

As a Contract Manager you will be seen as our subject matter expert for all Repairs & Maintenance activity associated with Health and Safety compliance, demand and capacity planning, customer satisfaction, field operations and performance management of the workforce.

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

You will be genuinely motivated to achieve results, have resilience and tact, demonstrable prior experience of working at a similar level in a fast paced commercial/FM/housing environment.

  • Experience of managing and delivering a response repairs service
  • Educated to Degree level or have relevant experience
  • Experience of building, monitoring and maintaining constructive relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent communications skills and demonstrates the ability to share and give clear instructions to team colleagues
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Principle contractor duties under CDM regulations
  • Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle
  • Collaborative team player
  • Customer and performance focused
  • Strong commercial acumen

This role is really suited to someone who likes to work in a fast paced environment, and wants to drive performance and cultural change

So, if this sounds like a role that you would be good at, working within a team environment you would enjoy, then we would love to hear from you

That all sounds great, what’s in it for me?

In return we offer £55,000 for a 40-hour week, and 22 days annual leave, plus 3 discretionary days between Christmas & New Year, plus Bank Holidays but our employee offering provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance.

At TeamYHG we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done. If you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too. And when you need to collaborate with your team, you can visit Youggle House – our purpose-built collaboration, wellbeing, and social space in Birchwood, Warrington.

And who are Your Housing Group?

Your Housing Group is a registered social landlord helping people at every stage of life to live in quality homes they can afford.
