Our client provides Civil engineering solutions and traditional construction services across the UK. Due to continuous growth, they are seeking an experienced Planner / Programmer with a background in Civil and Construction. About the Role As a Civil and Construction Planner, you will play a critical role in coordinating and managing various construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of project requirements, constraints, and risks to develop realistic and achievable project schedules.
  • Utilise project management software and tools to create Gantt charts, critical path analyses, and other planning documents.
  • Monitor project progress regularly and identify potential delays or deviations from the schedule. Implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for construction activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to optimize resource allocation and sequencing of work activities to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare progress reports and updates for project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess construction progress, identify any issues or obstacles, and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budget forecasts, and financial reports for construction projects.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a planner or scheduler in the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential project risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, as well as relevant building codes and regulations
