Renewables Business Development Director

The Director is responsible for executing the sales and market strategy to grow the business with existing clients and develop new opportunities. They will collaborate across various internal departments and discipline specialists such as Operations, Projects, Technical, Commercial, and Finance to build competitive service options for our customers, ensuring their ongoing success.

The below is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Role specific responsibilities

  1. To clearly map out a strategic plan for the NA/Canada/UK markets.
  2. Map out clear objectives / timeframes and actions required for the successful implementation of the strategy.
  3. Meet new existing / new clients to grow relationships and carry out critical vendor approval for entry into the renewables.
  4. M&A activities share ideas and potential targets that would fit into the overall nuclear strategy, i.e. service / technology companies to enhance offering.
  5. Support the commercial team with compilation of tender proposals.
  6. Maintain a strong network of contacts within our target markets and develop relationships with key decision makers.
  7. With support of marketing, identify target clients and develop strategies to target them.
  8. Accurately forecasting future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace.
  9. Serving as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions.
  10. Carry out duties safely and efficiently in line with the Company QHSE policies and report any unsafe conditions or incidents in the workplace, including damaged equipment or facilities.

Health, Safety & Environment

  1. You have a duty to take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
  2. You will carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental rules, policy, procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
  3. Ensure that you follow any instructions or health, safety & environmental training provided by the company and report any hazards, injuries or ill health that present a serious and imminent risk and inform your line manager about any shortcomings you identify within your health and safety arrangements.

Work Experience Required :

  1. Experienced Sales Manager with a strong track record in renewable energy markets.
  2. To put strategic plans in place to grow into renewables including clear strategic objectives and KPI’s to ensure future growth.
  3. Must be able to demonstrate experience in maintaining and growing business with existing clients and development of new clients.
  4. Welding and fabrication background, preferably with site base knowledge.

Skills & Knowledge Required :

  1. Motivated, organised self-starter.
  2. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and address ambiguous issues.
  3. Passionate and enthusiastic about delivering excellence.
