About the Role…

We have an exciting new vacancy for a Finance Director to join EG On The Move and play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Director will lead the accounting team, including the Financial Controller, and will be responsible for all aspects of statutory reporting and management accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and established finance professional looking to further their career in a leadership position as well as seeking further exposure in a leading forecourt and retail business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounting team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including acceleration of the current Month End timetable

     
  • Oversee all aspects of statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and financial standards, including the co-ordination of Tax filings.
  • Prepare and analyse management accounts, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with senior finance team on the successful execution of commercial contracts, financing arrangements and M&A transactions
  • Manage fixed assets, including depreciation schedules, asset tracking, and compliance with accounting standards. This includes a transition to project accounting.
  • Oversee leases, IFRS 16 lease accounting, and compliance with lease agreements
  • Oversee the first-year audit for the business following its separation from EG Group, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Play a key role in the transition to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risk.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to senior management, contributing to the development and execution of business strategies.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry trends, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with extensive experience in a senior finance role.
  • Proven track record of leading finance teams and managing complex financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with experience in statutory reporting, management accounts, and financial analysis.
  • Prior experience managing financial audits
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience of acquisition accounting – Desirable
  • Extensive ERP knowledge and System transition experience – Desirable
