Full-time (5 days / 37.5 hours per week)
Until 31st March 2027
Location: UK home based or Buglife office in Cardiff, Peterborough, Plymouth or Stirling

About the Job:

Are you passionate about safeguarding invertebrates and eager to lay the groundwork for future conservation efforts in the UK Overseas Territories? If you dream of making a genuine difference in protecting the extraordinary endemic and native invertebrates that call these Territories home, we have an unparalleled opportunity for you to join Buglife and spearhead our work to save globally threatened wildlife

As the Senior Conservation Officer, you will play an instrumental role in coordinating and successfully delivering the Supporting Atlantic Territories Invertebrate Conservation project. In collaboration with local partners on Anguilla, Ascension Island, Bermuda, and the Falkland Islands, you will contribute to enhancing our understanding of their invertebrate species by supporting surveys and pinpointing crucial sites for their conservation. You will be at the forefront of identifying and designating Important Invertebrate Areas to ensure the long-term survival of these fascinating creatures and the restoration of their vital native ecosystems.

You will be the driving force behind building strong partnerships and fostering collaboration with experts and our UKOT partners. Together, you will work towards improving invertebrate knowledge, skills, and capacity on the Territories while advocating for positive outcomes for these incredible species. This is a unique opportunity to engage in international collaboration and knowledge exchange, working hand in hand with those who share our passion for invertebrate conservation.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a talent for building relationships and inspiring action for invertebrates. The ideal candidate will have exceptional project management skills, the ability to manage complex budgets, and a deep commitment to our mission. If you are excited about the chance to make a tangible impact on the conservation of these unique species and their habitats, we encourage you to apply and join the Buglife team in this vital conservation work.
