Job Description

Please note this is a full time role working 36.25 hours per week, on a Sunday to Thursday 09:45 - 18:00 shift pattern.

Training for this role for the first few monthsMonday - Friday 09:45 - 18:00. There will be a requirement to cover bank holidays and have flexibility in working hours to assist with business demands.

This position will be joining a fast paced Microbiology Food Testing department, with the following main duties:

  • Preparation of media (agars etc.) to be used in microbiological analysis
  • Sample preparation in line with company protocols
  • Microbiological analysis of food, feed and environmental samples in line with company protocols
  • Training and operation of relevant equipment
  • General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination
  • Accurate Data entry into laboratory database
  • Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system
  • Effective communication with all employees
  • Report any anomalous results or situations to Laboratory Supervisor
  • Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory
