GSL Education are currently recruiting SecondaryCover Supervisors for secondary schools in Rotherham. The role involves managing classrooms and ensuring that pre-set work is completed without the teacher.

Job Summary:

  • Supervise classes and ensure students remain on task with the work they have been set.
  • Manage classroom behavior and uphold school rules.
  • Respond to any questions from students about process and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising classes across various subjects, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and instructions left by the absent teacher.
  • Managing classroom behavior to uphold school policies and standards.
  • Providing support to students with their learning as needed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and school leadership to support the overall educational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom dynamics and behavior effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects and year groups.
  • Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable but not essential.

Please note: This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful candidates must satisfy all background checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
