Principal Clinical Scientist – Nuclear Medicine Team
Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a Principal Clinical Scientist to join our client's esteemed Nuclear Medicine department. Reporting to the Speciality Manager - Oncology and under the guidance of the Head of Nuclear Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and safety standards of their Nuclear Medicine services.
They are a prominent healthcare provider delivering exceptional care across diverse London boroughs and beyond. Their team of over 7,800 dedicated staff members, residing mainly in Barking and Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge, reflects the rich tapestry of their community, with a significant representation from black, Asian, and minority ethnic groups.
Our client offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including specialist neurosciences services, catering to a wide demographic. Committed to excellence, they have achieved notable milestones, such as accreditation for their Elective Surgical Hub and commendations from the Care Quality Commission for their urgent and emergency care services.
Develop and implement a robust quality assurance programme for all Nuclear Medicine equipment.
Oversee the administration of radionuclide therapies.
Provide supervision and training to junior staff members, including clinical scientists, nurses, radiographers, and technicians.
Contribute to the management of departmental documentation and quality management systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and enhance imaging workflows and software applications.
Participate in research and development initiatives aligned with objectives.
Contribute to the creation and review of clinical protocols in line with regulatory standards.
Actively engage in risk assessment and incident investigations within the department.
Honours degree in Medical Physics or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience in Nuclear Medicine.
Proficiency in ionising radiation safety principles and quality assurance practices.
