Head of Service – First Response – Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council
3 - 6+ Month Ongoing Contract

Essentials:
- Substantial and successful direct management experience within the specialism of this post, including policy development, corporate/strategic planning and managing change
- Experience of managing people effectively within a customer focused service delivery environment
- Successful budget management in a comparable organisation including evaluation of competing budgetary priorities within tight financial limits
- Successful track record of communicating and working with stakeholders and partners
- Experience of performance management and quality assurance processes in service delivery
Job Role:
- The post holder will have responsibility for the effective and efficient operation and delivery of a function or cluster of locality services (in this case the Front door and MASH) which have a direct impact on the health or quality of life of individuals and/or protection of the vulnerable.
- The post holder will have responsibility for delivering high level advice and guidance which significantly influences, either directly or indirectly, the trust and confidence of the community and/or Council.
- This will involve the strategic planning, review, design and transformation of services to deliver sustainable and safe outcomes for high risk vulnerable client groups to ensure people’s needs are met and value for money achieved.
- To ensure the effective and efficient operation of services (MASH and assessment teams) providing initial multi-agency response to concerns regarding vulnerable children and those at risk across the Borough including provision of emergency out of hours response.
