Cyber Security Analyst (Volunteer) Here at Teenage Helpline, we rely on a wide range of individuals who support us. We're always on the lookout for unpaid volunteers who can support us 1-5 hours per week.

At Teenage Helpline , we are a tight-knit community of people who are passionate about make a difference in the lives of young people across the UK

Teenage Helpline is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as the first stepping-stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves, or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues.

All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers. We have great systems in place to allow our employees and volunteers to get to know each other, work effectively together and do great work

We are a flexible organisation that values the contributions of everyone. We will never ask more from our volunteers and employees than they can give, but we are sure to celebrate and recognise their efforts.

About the role

As an integral part of the Cyber Security Team, our CyberSecurity Analyst will provide direct support to the Cyber Security Manager and the broader IT Team to ensure that the highest security standards are upheld. This is an exciting opportunity to deploy existing cyber security knowledge into a growing charity, whilst also being able to learn more and develop yourself professionallyat the same time.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Teenage Helpline volunteers in delivery of annual security training.
  • Working with the Cyber Security Manager to assist in responding to cyber security incidents.
  • Communication and effective running of phishing simulations.
  • Promoting a security first culture by working with IT teams to oversee creation of a Cyber Security Hub.
  • Ensure security reviews are conducted and mitigation/improvement plans are produced.
  • Working on initiatives and meeting key objectives. Updating the Cyber Security Manager on the progress of initiatives, phishing and risks.
  • Identify opportunities for cyber security initiatives and improvements in Teenage Helpline’s IT infrastructure and operations. The Cyber Security Team will support the IT Projects team, producing security recommendations and plans when necessary.
