Head of Digital (Editorial)

As the Head of Digital you will take on a leadership position in our editorial team, responsible for driving the digital strategy of The Scottish Sun's website and associated channels. You will ensure that our News, Sports and Features stories reach and resonate with our diverse and growing audience. You will lead a team to ensure all our stories are relevant, engaging and legally sound, as well as working with other departments to deliver compelling and interactive stories across all digital platforms.
Oversee The Scottish Sun website, social channels and video output
Oversee news, features and sports stories to ensure the highest standard of presentation, particularly in headlines, pictures and video, to maximise traffic and dwell time
Work collaboratively with internal departments including commercial and marketing
Maintain an excellent relationship and seek opportunities with the online, audience, sport, tech and video teams across the whole of News Corp
Full awareness of legal issues, the Editors' Code of Practice and IPSO standards
An awareness and passion for all things news, showbiz and politics
Experience in managing and leading high performance teams
Expert in SEO, social media and digital news delivery
Experience of video production, commissioning and knowledge of emerging platforms
In-depth knowledge of analytics and ability to interpret data and implement new strategies
Keen awareness of the digital media environment, trends and audience behaviours
Skilled in creating commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives
Understanding of Scottish Sun DNA and how it translates to digital platforms
