This critical role will be responsible for ensuring supplier compliance to company, regulatory, and customer requirements, whilst driving continuous improvement in supplier quality performance. Working at the intersection of engineering, quality, and procurement, you will help develop a robust, cost-effective, and high-quality supply base to support our growing aerospace operations.
Our Senior SQA Engineer plays an essential role in our supply chain team and will focus primarily on supplier approval, monitoring, and control. A key aspect of the position involves cascading relevant requirements—whether from the company, regulatory bodies, international standards, or customers—and ensuring compliance through verification activities.
In your role as our Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you will:
Lead supplier development initiatives aimed at enhancing performance, reducing costs, and strengthening the overall supply chain
Support both Quality Engineering and Quality Assurance (QE/QA) responsibilities, as well as assisting the Supply Chain Director in developing and managing the supplier audit plan.
Resolve quality concerns
Conduct root cause analyses
Compile supplier performance data to support the generation of monthly supplier scorecards
Manage and mentor an SQA Engineer responsible for quarantine material inspection, adjudication and return to vendor processes
Be a crucial member of the first line support team; working to minimise risk for the global supply chain function by identifying ‘at risk’ suppliers and vetting more competitive near-shore options

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to operational excellence, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the technical insight needed to uphold and enhance our quality standards. Strong quality and / or manufacturing background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing environments
Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information and applicable requirements
People supervision/management experience
Able to travel frequently on Supplier visits both nationally and internationally as there will be occasional travel to China and S.Be eligible to work in the UK, comfortable commuting or being based in Hingham, Norfolk and work flexible hours required
