We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Energy Analyst to work for a leading energy company in the low carbon heat sector. You will work for the Energy Intelligence team which is responsible for driving all areas of the business by providing accurate, critical and timely data. This is a complex position and requires high level methodical thinking to find and deliver solutions to problems.

• Measure, monitor and report on plant physical performance (thermal and cooling efficiencies, electrical efficiencies, operational regimes, plant outputs, etc.)

• Maintain and develop data collection to allow effective internal and external reporting

• Investigate and improve all system losses (thermal and electrical losses, parasitic loads, etc.)

• Report on energy efficiency and financial performance of energy sales

• Identify adverse trends and opportunities for improvements

• Investigate and improve all system losses

• Ongoing analysis and modelling of the energy schemes trends and performance, diagnosing and recommendations for rectification to ensure that energy is delivered consistently and efficiently to meet contractual requirements

• Calculate and peer review energy revenues and costs

• Support training for Graduates

• Actively manage hedging and procurement, comparing energy purchase, use and consumption to deliver maximum efficiency and best value

• Manage energy optimisation models which integrate with the operational planning and financial process.

• Carry out regular review of Junifer data and compare with the EI team bulk data

• Identify trends and anomalies in Junifer consumption and manage resolution

• Investigate and improve all secondary system losses

• Monitor and manage C3ntinel data for gaps, spikes, issues Deliverables

• Assess the current performance of the energy schemes and recommend improvement changes and upgrades

• Perform variance to budget analysis

• Lead with the formation of energy budgets

• Carry out thermal & electrical balances identifying and rectifying any imbalances where possible

Role Requirements

This role requires a good knowledge of data analysis, modelling, utilities and operational knowledge of power and heating and cooling plants.

Candidate Requirements

• Right to work in the UK. • Motivated and professional, who wishes to commit to a role which will provide both opportunity and challenge • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience • Qualified to a minimum 2:1 degree level in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Discipline • Demonstrable competence in the use of Microsoft Excel is essential • An understanding of the principals of district energy and CHP • Heating and cooling system design including a range of generation system (CHP, Biomass, Boilers etc.) would be an advantage • Must be both positive and proactive when approaching all tasks • Knowledge of Controls, VSDs and Metering Systems would be an advantage • Member of a professional Institute and working towards chartership would be an advantage
