About the RoleWithin the role, you will be assisting the Team Leader in food and beverage preparation and making barista style drinks, whilst having an active role in merchandising and selling our products. You will always provide excellent customer service and ensure the smooth running of the outlet.
Responsibilities include operating the EPOS system, managing stock levels, maintaining cleanliness, and complying with health and safety regulations. You will also assist with training and ensure the outlet's efficient operation in the absence of supervision. Flexibility to assist with functions and conference work will be required.
About YouYou will have experience in making barista-quality hot drinks and delivering excellent customer service. You will have experience using EPOS systems, handling cash, and performing light food preparation while understanding allergens, special dietary requirements, and licensing laws.
A basic food safety certificate and GCSEs or equivalent qualifications are required. You must be able to work effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, and have good written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of health and safety in a catering environment is essential.Additional Information
  • You will be required to work evening and weekends for planned events, for which, overtime will be paid when in excess of contracted hours.
  • Due to operational requirements some flexibility of working hours will be required in order to meet business needs. The department can be open 7 days a week and post holders will be required to work on a 5 out of 7 rotating pattern. Covering early mornings, evenings & weekends. Advanced notice will be provided.
  • We have peak times of the year where annual leave will not be permitted.
  • The post holder will be required to travel between University sites and may be required to drive a University vehicle.
Please note that as of April 2024, there has been a change in the UKs sponsorship threshold. Regrettably as the salary for this role falls beneath this, you will not be eligible for sponsorship therefore your application will automatically be rejected.
