Title: Locum Speech & Language Therapist - Brain Injury Location: South East London Job type: Locum Hourly rate: £34+ I am looking for a dedicated and experienced Locum Speech & Language Therapist for my client in South East London. They are looking for an SLT (experience equivalent to Band 6), with experience with patients with acquired brain injuries. **Please note, we are unable to sponsor visas. We require the Right to Work in the UK.** Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders
  • Devise evidence-led therapy programmes for patients at a specialist level, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary working to achieve the best outcomes for our patients
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance for excellence
  • Named Therapist duties to ensure cohesive goal-setting and therapy and coordinating discharge
  • Develop your skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Speech and Language Therapy assistants and students
  • Participate in internal training (induction, mandatory training, MDT in-service)
  • Ensure all relevant codes of practice and regulations are upheld
  • Participate in service delivery audit and quality improvement initiatives
  • Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights
Qualifications/requirements:
  • HCPC registration
  • Previous experience of working in a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Experience in working with aphasia, cognitive communication disorder, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia is essential
  • Specialist level dysphagia competency on RCSLT framework
  • Ability to motivate patients over long periods
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
