Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist

Radlett Hertfordshire, United Kingdom Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist within the PATH (Psychosis: Prevention, Assessment and Treatment in Hertfordshire) Service. PATH is a specialist service for those experiencing a first episode of psychosis in Hertfordshire.

We are implementing the Access and Waiting Time Standard for early intervention in psychosis (EIP), which is a clear national priority for the NHS. This standard will make a major difference to the quality of care received by those with First Episode Psychosis (FEP) and greatly improve their ability to recover. This is the start of our journey in ensuring our service users receive the right treatment at the right time from an EIP service and can go on to lead full, hopeful and productive lives. Do you want to be part of this exciting journey?

This post is suitable for a Band 7 Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist who has keen interest in psychosis.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and be skilled in working with recovery based and collaborative approaches to care planning, working flexibly and creatively with people in order to achieve their individual goals.
  • Main responsibilities include good governance of psychological therapies for people with psychosis, providing assessment, therapy, supervision and consultation.
  • An important part of this role is effective data collection to evidence the efficacy of psychological interventions.
  • It is anticipated that this post holder will work with people accessing the service within South West Hertfordshire, but there may be a requirement to work more widely across Hertfordshire to develop and deliver the service.
  • Regarding specialist professional development, PATH has close links with other Early Intervention services. The team is part of the East of England Early Intervention in Psychosis Clinical Network. Hence, there are opportunities to meet other EIP professionals outside of the Trust and attend CPD sessions run by the group.
  • Applications will be considered if you do not yet have CBT for Psychosis or Family Intervention qualification, however there is an expectation that you do further NHS funded training should places become available in line with NICE guidelines for Psychosis.
