We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team. This role will be part of the Finance department, supporting the Financial Controller and contributing to the effective financial management of the organisation.

Main Duties:

Financial Processing:

  • Manage income from various sources, including donations, grants, and fundraising activities.
  • Process cheques and cash deposits into the bank.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations and weekly reconciliation of credit card income.
  • Monthly reconciliation of other payment methods and processing credit card and cash card expenditures.
  • Liaise with payment merchants to ensure smooth financial operations.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Support the Financial Controller in producing reports for donors and stakeholders.

Administration and Compliance:

  • Maintain financial records and ensure they are up to date and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Manage the finance inbox, responding to inquiries and providing information as needed.
  • Ensure all financial processes adhere to the organization’s policies and legal requirements.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar finance role. Experience in the non-profit or environmental sector is a plus but not required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software. Experience with multi-currency transactions is desirable.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Additional Details:

  • Working Arrangements: Flexible working arrangements are available, with an expectation of 2-3 days in the office per week. The start date is ideally in mid-October to allow for a thorough handover.
