Overview

A challenging yet fulfilling role working along side the accounts team, which is made up of 4 other members. You will be responsible for assisting in the company's accounts payable and receivable. This includes tasks such as processing invoices, tracking payments, and reconciling accounts.

In this role, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

* Working knowledge of accounting terminology and procedures.

* Accurate knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications and Xero accounting software.

* The ability to multitask.

* Basic bookkeeping skills.

* Excellent organisational and time management skills.

* Effective communication skills.

* Proven experience working as an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Clerk, or similar role with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

* Perform reconciliations of bank accounts

* Manage and process Accounts Payable operation

* Help with VAT return preparations

* Process staff expenses

* Set up of new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details

* Reconciliation of supplier statements

* Filing invoices

* Data entry

* Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries- externally and internally

* Process all credit cards expenditure.

* Update all relevant accounting ledgers and journals.

* Knowledge of other aspects of accounting applications, such as sales ledger, raising sales invoices, ledger reconciliations and journal entries.

* Able to perform duties on adhoc basis to help other members of the accounts team.

Qualifications, Characteristics and Requirements

* At least three years of experience working in a similar environment

* Working knowledge of xero and Microsoft office applications

* Extensive knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and terminology

* High attention to detail and accuracy

* Exceptional time management skills

* An understanding of B2B media would be useful

* A track record of success

* Standard hours are 9am-5pm 4 days a week or 5 shorter days, however we welcome working parents and will discuss to individual needs
