We're on the look-out for a Divisional Trading Manager to join our Southern Region , within our vibrant Landscaping Team. We have an unrivalled offering of products, a respected brand, and a successful sales team

So, what’s the role?
You will report to our Trading Director and lead a team of 9 dedicated colleagues (Area Sales Managers and Regional Assessors) who look after our merchants and landscaping contractors.

Your main goals will be creating, developing, and executing landscaping strategies supporting your team to successfully deliver sales and specifications, whilst considering new and better ways to do things. We’re ready for you to challenge our expectations and create a space for yourself to improve on what’s already in place.

How do we think you can achieve that?

It will come as no surprise that building great relationships is at the forefront of your s uccess. You'll have a wide range of customers; senior merchant stakeholders, landscaping business owners, or a key player from a regional housebuilder operating within the division. Within this core customer group, you’ll negotiate agreements, recognising exciting opportunities, whilst considering how best to manage margins. You will ensure divisional turnover, profitability and market share ambitions are achieved across all landscaping products.

Internally, your team will have no limits, and with your support, we’d love to see each and every one of them achieve their own personal goals alongside the team and company strategy. Your new team is looking for a forward-thinking, collaborative, and courageous leader. Working towards common company goals, you will work closely with the Commercial Divisional Trading Manager to ensure close alignment between the two strategies. You will also collaborate with the marketing team to ensure the link between demand creation and the commercial success of the business is fulfilled to its potential.

  • Industry knowledge working with specified products, senior merchant, and contractor stakeholders . It would be a bonus if you have some established networks
  • Construction sector experience
  • Successfully managed a sales team that delivers results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of growing business through relationships
  • A proven track record of achieving demanding targets through solid planning, analysis, strategic implementation, and commercial acumen
  • Demonstrable experience in successful negotiation
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • The ability to support, influence, and enthuse colleagues
  • A rounded skill set, energetic, with a clear ambition to progress within Marshalls
  • In this regional role, you will need to have a driving licence and live on patch
