Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join this supportive primary PRU. This is a full time, long-term role starting ASAP for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.
The School:
The school supports children from Barnet primary schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have been permanently excluded, allocated a place through SEN consultation or via the Securing Education Board on a short-term placement. A high number of pupils here also have an additional diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. Class sizes are therefore smaller with up to six pupils per class and there is a high staff-to-pupil ratio so that children are given the correct support when needed across the school day.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant you will be responsible for the below:
Managing behaviour and following the schools behaviour policy
Supporting students in class, small groups and on a 1:1 basis
Contributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student
Monitoring and recording student progress and achievementsTo join us and be successful in this role you will need:
Previous experience working with children who have SEMH needs
An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
