Inspector Apprentice

Across our key sectors – Water, Power, Energy and Aggregates, and supported through our regional office network supported by our manufacturing hub located in the heart of Somerset which forms part of our 60,000ft head office complex – we deliver diverse and interesting projects and programmes throughout UK infrastructure.
Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

The purpose of this role will be to carry out hazardous area inspections, and follow up remedial works for various water industry sites across Southern Water and Thames water regions.


Contracted to 40hrs per week Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, with overtime paid. Overtime during the weekends paid at inflated rate.
~ To be responsible for completing electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards

~ Ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project’s quality plan and inspection and test plans

~ To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise

~ To coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices

~ Experience within water, construction, or industrial industries
~ Able to manage own and others workload with minimal assistance from Project Managers in delivering safe profitable projects
~ Fitness to work medical
~ Full UK driving licence

PASMA / IPAF / Confined space
Severn Trent Water LV SAP qualified
Industrial and/or panel wiring experience
