Job Title: Mechanical Fitter Job Location: Stoke on Trent. Staffordshire Shifts: Mornings and Afternoons rotating Pay: £24.32 Umbrella / £19 PAYE Hours per week: 37 Hours per week, anything over 37 hours is time and a half Duration: Long-term contract with possibility of permanent work in the future Start Date: Immediate Client Summary: Our client is a leader in locomotive manufacturing in the UK they specialise in maintenance and modifications of these locomotives. With decades of experience, they deliver innovative solutions for transportation networks worldwide. Their commitment to excellence and sustainability ensures they remain a trusted partner in the rail industry's evolution. Position summary: Join our team on a locomotive conversion project where you will be engaged in hands-on mechanical work, including the replacement and modification of mechanical parts such as coolant pipework. This role requires working on alternating shifts, one week in the morning and the next in the afternoon. Person Profile / Experience: * Prior experience with locomotives is not mandatory, but experience with trains or other vehicles is highly advantageous. * NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical field is ideal, though relevant experience will also be considered. * Looking for a candidate who is dedicated to quality, proactive, and able to work independently.
