We are looking to recruit a Mechanical and Gas Project Manager to join our friendly, family run business, covering areas around the Northeast and Yorkshire.

With your expertise in installations, attention to detail, and passion for excellence, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective installation of a wide range of gas boilers and mechanical systems across the MOD estate; ordering and scheduling all necessary materials and leading a team of installation engineers to deliver excellent customer service. You will oversee all aspects of the installation process, from liaising with the client, advising of the best possible solution to ensuring proper staffing and provisioning, to recruiting and on boarding additional installation personnel, to managing issues related to installations or materials.

Core Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising the client on the best install solution;
  • Plan and design works in line with client requirements;
  • Manage labour, subcontractors and suppliers involved in project;
  • Supervisor and mentor gas and mechanical engineers;
  • Schedule and coordinate the work of our installation team;
  • Attend stakeholder meetings to ensure project requirements are understood;
  • Programme projects in line with client requirements
  • Ensure work is progressing as scheduled;
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, and company safe systems of work;
  • Maintain documentation in retrievable state for evidence of safety implementation;
  • Coordinate with Contracts Manager and project team.

  • Core hours are Monday to Friday between 8am and 4.30pm.
  • The successful candidate must have:
  • Managerial experience with gas installation;
  • Higher level qualifications in gas installations;
  • Strong commitment to customer service and a passion for delivering great results;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and think outside the box.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate contractors and trades and keep team informed of
  • timelines.
  • Flexible and reliable, and able to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry accreditations.
  • A full valid UK driving licence
