The opportunity

Part of our business strategy requires the successful integration of acquired businesses into the group. The M&A Business Process Analyst plays an important role within the M&A team in documenting the processes that exist in an acquired business and understanding why teams within the business work in a particular way.

The M&A Business Process Analyst will document processes and present in a format suitable for sharing with other areas of the business. They will work with M&A analysts, managers and other teams to integrate a completed acquisition into the group. There may be a requirement to support and provide insights for potential deals and valuation as part of the due diligence process.

In order to assist the group in continuous improvement the M&A Business and Process Analyst will provide healthy challenge when understanding and documenting processes.

Day to day duties

  • Working with relevant key individuals at acquired businesses sites to understand and document existing processes using appropriate business process and notation (BPMN) tools
  • Working with internal teams in order to assess the each process
  • Identifying where data and automation can be leveraged to improve efficiencies
  • Identifying differences between an acquired business
  • Highlighting risks to efficiencies of changing the process of an acquired business
  • Recommending changes to the way Azets works as a result of identifying better working practices
  • Presenting findings and recommendations back to the M&A team and the wider business using appropriate tools such as PowerPoint
  • Supporting the wider M&A team to gain buy-in from an acquired business to new ways of working
  • Communicating any challenges or potential risks relating to timescales of completing a handover of an acquired business from acquisition and integration phases to business as usual (BAU)

What are we looking for?

  • Interpersonal skills are key for working with the team in acquired businesses at all levels from partners to junior level employees working in professional and administrative roles.
  • Emotional intelligence is important in order to provide healthy challenge when understanding existing processes and as you will be working with people of all levels of seniority, experience with differing personalities
  • Analytical reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand why existing processes are followed, to both find solutions for problems and enable people within the business to be even more efficient
  • To be a clear communicator verbally, in writing and in presentations.
  • Listening is crucial in order to absorb information to be documented
  • An understanding of how and why chargeable and support employees work a particular way
  • Demonstrable experience in understanding, documenting and improving processes ideally within accounting or professional services environments
  • Ability to work efficiently with a high level of independence
  • Ability to deliver within set timescales, occasionally under pressure and be willing to undertake out of hours work if required
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts working on the continuous improvement projects in order to remain up to date with Azets processes
  • To build knowledge of existing and desired Azets processes from the central team responsible for defining how the teams operate throughout Azets
  • Relevant qualifications such as IBA, CCBA, CBAP or similar
  • Travel to and working in locations that have been acquired by Azets will be required
