We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Senior Project Manager to join the Chief Nurse's Office Project Team.

As part of this growing team, you will be involved in a wide range of projects across the nursing, midwifery and AHP portfolio and will play a key role in driving forward some key work to deliver on the commitments set out in our Trust Strategy, Nursing Midwifery and AHP strategy and new priorities as they arise.

We require an experienced Senior Project Manager with a track record of working collaboratively with staff at all levels within a healthcare context, adept at tailoring their communication style to the audience.

You will need to bring rigour and structure to projects at all stages, able to quickly adapt and deliver on new projects and priorities as they arise.

You will possess the confidence and skills that will enable you to influence a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the successful delivery of the projects.

Main duties of the job

Crucial supportive role within the CNO Project team to ensure delivery of the Project portfolio. Working closely with clinical, nursing and operational teams to understand their services and adapt support as required.

Supporting the development and implementation of programme planning and governance methodology for use in all Project workstreams.

Supporting the Chief Nurse and senior team in the role of critical friend to enable CUH teams to develop detailed project plans and governance.

Supporting the development and active maintenance of an overall Projects programme plan in the Chief Nurse division to ensure and track implementation.

Supporting the coordination of workstreams identification of interdependencies, risks and issues 'unblocker' of issues to enable projects to progress.

Reporting of progress to the Chief Nurse, management executive and board as required.

Qualifications

Essential


  • Educated to Masters level or demonstrable equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Evidence of Project Management training or sufficient experience that demonstrates equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Desirable


  • Managing Successful Programmes/ Prince2 Practitioner (or equivalent experience).

Experience

Essential


  • Demonstrable experience of developing project strategies.
  • Extensive experience of managing large scale complex programmes and projects using recognised methodology (e.g. Prince 2) and tracking and monitoring their implementation.
  • Experience of the identification and management of risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Experience of developing performance indicators to monitor project and programme delivery.
  • Experience of change management with proven negotiating and influencing skills both internally and externally.
  • Experience of project budgets knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Experience of benefits realisation.
  • Experience of producing business cases.
  • Experience of developing documents and policies.
  • Evidence of working with multi-disciplinary staff across a diverse professional organisation to specify solutions to support the successful delivery of projects.

  • Considerable experience of project and programme management.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of developing project strategies.
  • Knowledge of recognised methodology (e.g. Prince 2).
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies.
