Job Description Remote / Flexible to travel
We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Architect to join our clients' team within a major financial institution. This role demands robust technical expertise to deliver high-quality, large-scale IT solutions in the Cloud (GCP), aligning with the latest technological advances and on-premise requirements. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in complex, large-scale environments, preferably in financial services.

Develop and maintain platform roadmaps, ensuring architectures are cost-effective, compliant, and appropriate.
Oversee solution designs ensuring they are compliant with platform architecture and strategic roadmaps.
Address operational issues in product architecture and integrate solutions into the change backlog continuously.
Ensure end-to-end solution architecture strategy and designs are strategically aligned and cost-effective.
Manage risks effectively and escalate issues in a timely manner.
Maintain compliance with architecture governance and standards, and partner with external suppliers to define architecture patterns and integration approaches.
Extensive experience as a Lead Architect on major projects or complex programmes (budgets of $5m+).
Background in Retail Banking Lending (Mortgages, Loans, Credit Cards) with specific experience in automated decisioning, origination, and servicing designs.
Deep understanding of architecture processes including Reviews and Design Authority.
Experience with API architectures, UI frameworks (e.g., React, Angular), databases (e.g., Postgres, BigQuery), and data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, BQ SQL).
Exposure to international or global projects is preferred.
