Job Description

Senior Business Analyst

A highly reputable financial services corporation is currently a Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of core products, systems, processes and associated business initiatives. To be considered for this position you must have demonstrable experience working within a Senior or Lead BA position, taking ownership of projects and steering junior BA’s. Additionally, you will have strong capabilites in RAID, process for elicitation and JIRA/Confluence preferably with exposure to Azure DevOps environments as our client transitions into the cloud.

This is an exciting project where the chosen candidate will gain exposure to modernisation as our client moves towards a cloud first estate within an scaled Agile environment.

Our client is offering a basic salary of £60,000 to £65,000 to be based in Chatham 3 x PW to start ASAP on a 12 month FTC with potential to move into a permanent career opportunity.

Core responsibilities:

  • Lead discovery analysis to quantify the problem or opportunity within the competitive environment, the business process landscape, the current IT and data solutions.
  • Lead business decision-making through the identification and evaluation of solution options.
  • Stakeholder identification and management both to reflect a wide range of stakeholder perspectives and to optimise the change journey of the stakeholders with clear communication and upfront work-planning.
  • Lead elicitation, analysis, specification, validation and verification of business requirements for the selected solution. Requirements will reflect both functional and non-functional perspectives. Requirements elaboration may require a range of artefacts such as Journey models, Use Case diagrams, Business Process models (we use BPMN notation), Information and Data models to provide business and technical teams with context and precision.
  • Lead delivery the requirements traceability appropriate to the change initiative typically from desired business outcome through requirements to software developments and acceptance testing.
  • Support defined changes through to benefit realisation with a range of tasks including project change evaluation and implementation; RAID identification, specification and mitigation, resolution of defects arising from Test where relevant to the service definition and implementation support.

Core skill requirements:

  • Previous work experience as a Senior Business Analyst / Lead Business Analyst within the Financial Services industry is must have.
  • Acting as a level 3 Senior Business Analyst, making assessments / guiding BA’s is must have.
  • Strong knowledge of describing customer journeys, process modelling, data modelling, test defect triage, stakeholder management and traceability matrix is essential.
  • Experience of on-premise to cloud transformation programs is essential.
  • Demonstrable knowledge elicitation, RAID identification and senior stakeholder engagement is essential
  • Experience of JIRA, Confluence and Azure DevOps is highly desirable.
  • We value BA Professional Certification such as the IIBA’s CBAP or the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis is a nice to have.
