Bid Manager - York (outskirts) - hybrid working options

So what skills do you need to bring?

  • Able to co-ordinate colleagues, including technical employees at all levels, bid colleagues, marketing and communications, and external partners
  • Skilled in editing copy to correct grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to edit copy to house standard and style
  • Skilled in setting priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • A strong team player with the ability to share information, offer support and provide guidance to both colleagues and customers
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
  • Ability to multitask and manage disparate plans in a services-based environment
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and work to demanding timelines
  • Advanced MS Word skills & proficient in MS Office and MS Teams
  • Sound commercial understanding, P&L, and risk management skills
  • Be comfortable working in an energetic, high growth environment
  • Accustomed to working to targets

And what will your responsibilities be?

  • Managing the written and editorial aspects of the bid and proposal development process
  • Communicating requirements, deadlines, and expectations to key stakeholders and the bid/ proposal team
  • Maintaining the bid library, bid tracker, author content, and editing text produced by other members of the team
  • Re-write or edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from technical, sales, marketing, finance, commercial, legal, and operations
  • Checking drafts for readability, clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and formatting
  • Producing high-quality documents and ensuring completed bids/ proposals meet the bid specification
  • Maintaining the bid library, bid tracker, content
  • Conducting bid analysis following completion of submissions to drive improvements
  • Sound commercial understanding, P&L, and risk management skills
  • Manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities. Solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures
  • For complex bids, support the operational and sales teams with the implementation of new agreements
