Position: Teaching Assistant - S E N Location: Peacehaven Hours: Full- Time or Part- Time Contract Type: Permanent, Term- Time Only

About the Role:

Randstad Education is seeking compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants specialising in S E N to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition ( A S C). This role involves working closely with individual students in primary or secondary schools across Peacehaven, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential in a supportive and understanding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with Autism, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans ( I E Ps) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, S E N C Os, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil's progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
  • Assist with classroom activities and promote positive interaction between the pupil and their peers.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with Autism or other special educational needs is essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs are advantageous.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
