Job Description

As the Security Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in constructing, implementing, and overseeing the NOC/SOC security platform with agility. Your responsibilities include deploying the cybersecurity framework across my clients global network of over 600 locations. Additionally, you will define the company's overarching security strategy while engaging in day-to-day security engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead security incident detection, response, and mitigation functions for our production facilities.
  • Possess deep expertise in security and network engineering, overseeing effective security operations teams.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit proactive problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously within fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of the NOC/SOC security platform in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate and procure necessary tools, technologies, and services to enhance SOC capabilities.
  • Align platform functionalities with organizational goals and security best practices.
  • Manage a high-performing security engineering team responsible for monitoring, detection, response, and mitigation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and attention to detail within the team.
  • Refine SOC operational processes and procedures.
  • Oversee monitoring of security alerts and incidents, coordinating rapid response efforts.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and implement necessary improvements.
  • Perform regular reviews and vulnerability assessments, including internal penetration testing.
  • Collaborate with technology and business leaders to define the strategic direction for the security platform.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all security platform-related matters.
  • Provide regular reports on security platform performance, incident metrics, and key updates to stakeholders.
  • Implement continuous improvements to the platform and operations.
  • Manage training programs for the cybersecurity framework to enhance overall organizational cybersecurity health.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience leading a modern security engineering function in a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices and DevSecOps environments desirable.
  • Deep understanding of networking and security concepts, protocols, and infrastructure.
  • Experience with open-source tools in network and security management and automation.
  • Knowledge of OT environments, especially in the renewables sector and related regulatory landscape.
  • Professional-level knowledge in AWS security services and architectures.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Security, etc., are desirable.
