Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's collaborative and inclusive team in Stockport. This full-time Manufacturing Engineer role offers a salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annam and many excellent benefits.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support manufacturing processes to improve product quality and ease of manufacture. The company is a trusted partner to military customers around the world and has a skilled and experienced workforce dedicated to achieving excellence in all areas of the business, from Engineering to Project Management and Business Support to Operations.

This critical role is to develop/implement improvements to manufacturing processes and to drive continuous improvement, consistency of product quality, and delivery. During your first few weeks in this Manufacturing Engineer role, you can expect to:

  1. Create, manage, and deliver improvement action plans
  2. Implement a customer-focused, operational improvement culture, delivering world-class customer service levels
  3. Explore the business case for process automation where applicable; for repeatability, efficiency, and quality improvements
  4. Develop processes to improve dimensional stability from effective jigging / fixture / alignment
  5. Continuously drive efficiency improvements that reduce the build hours/product
  6. Lead, develop, and implement quality manufacturing improvement programs across the area of responsibility
  7. Coordinate cross-functional team activities to optimize the cost performance of the plant through capital investment programs, optimizing operating standards and minimizing waste through the development of a continuous improvement culture
  8. Support and lead structured problem-solving and process improvement activities

To apply for this Manufacturing Engineer position, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:

  1. Ideally holding an HND or an Advanced/Higher Apprenticeship in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
  2. Educated to Bachelor level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Discipline
  3. Planning experience using SAP and Ideally Trained in SAP
  4. Structuring BOMs from Drawing to Manufacture
  5. A proven successful track record of manufacturing excellence and experience in a similar role within an industrial or technical environment
  6. It would be advantageous to have planning experience with SAP or to be trained in SAP
