The AtkinsRéalisInfrastructure Project Delivery Practice (PDP) is the centre ofexcellence for the delivery of infrastructure projects and combinesthe best in project management and design management to provide a fullsuite of services to clients in the public and private sectors. Theteam is responsible for delivery of design services across our marketsof Water Infrastructure, Defence Infrastructure, Nuclear, Aviation,Energy, Rail (stations), and Urban Developments.

We have anexciting new opportunity in the Infrastructure PDP for anAssociateDirectorto join our North, Scotland and Northern Ireland (NS&NI)practice, based from our Newcastle or Stockton office, who wants totake the next step in their career and further their responsibilityfor the delivery of projects from inception to completion.You will bean established Associate Director / Associate, or Senior ProjectManager looking for the next step, with proven experience insuccessfully delivering projects. This role combines agile workingfrom our NS&NI offices with time at client offices and sites. 

Our need to recruit comes from the success of our division, andour pipeline and expected growth within the Northern regions across avariety of sectors, predominantly in Energy and Urban developments towhich this role is focused.

A role within the InfrastructurePDP offers the opportunity to work on the full suite of projects thatAtkinsRéalis delivers; be it refurbishment and new build projects;nuclear new build; defence; water projects and many more, which willenable you to demonstrate and progress your project management skills,knowledge, and experience. 

As an Associate Director orAssociate you are likely to have several years of multi-disciplinaryinfrastructure project delivery experience, ideally within aconsultancy environment, and would be responsible for the leadershipand the successful delivery of major multi-disciplinary designprojects from concept through construction and final handover. 

As Associate Director or Associate youwill be responsible for(but not limited to) the following activities: 

  • Thesuccessful delivery of the project to agreed targets, e.g., programme,budget, and quality & Identifying and agreeing project objectives anddeveloping a strategy for achieving these. 
  • Identifying andmanaging any matters that could pose a potentialcontractual/commercial risk to AtkinsRéalis, as well as identificationof opportunities. 
  • Leading the project team – building,motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding and developing the teamtowards solving problems and making decisions 
  • Facilitatingcommunication, co-ordination, and information flow with the Client andwithin the project team, including any subcontractors and partners(internal and external). 
  • With input from the DisciplineLeads, agreeing commercial trading arrangements and communication planfor working with other teams across the business including our GlobalTechnology Centres (GTC) in Bangalore and New Delhi. 
  • Assembling and owning the project delivery programme and deliveryplans.Protecting the commercial interest of AtkinsRéalis, includingtimely and accurate invoicing and effective credit control for optimalcash flow (with the support of the finance community); comparingrevenue with predicted costs and identifying risk allowances, margin,and provisions – at project set-up and monthly thereafter, includingEarned Value reporting. 

Requirements: 

  • Chartered Engineer/Architect/Project Manager or equivalent withdemonstrable experience managing the design and/or construction withexperience on large infrastructure projects.
  • APM PMQ (orequivalent) recognised level of competence in Project Management –desirable. 
  • Understands and has experience in deployingvarious forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 or 4 and/orbespoke forms of contract. 
  • Familiar with BIM andunderstands 3D modelling tools for design and coordination purposesand the associated Information attributes that can be assigned andmanaged within the Model. 
  • Identifies new opportunities andgrowth propositions and brings value into the business by seeing thesethrough to new work for themselves and others.
