Senior Wastewater (Hydraulic) Modellers / Catchment Planners – North West / Various

Our client is recruiting multiple Senior Wastewater (Hydraulic) Modellers / Catchment Planners for major long-term frameworks across the UK.

In addition to various UK water industry programmes, our client has secured a significant single-award framework to improve river health in the Northwest of England. This 10-year framework focuses on programme optimisation, developing solutions, and selecting preferred options based on best value, lowest carbon, and cost. The mission is to deliver exceptional water services for a resilient, eco-friendly, and thriving Northwest.

Preferred Location: North West of England (other locations may be considered).

About The Team:

The Water Consulting team includes Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development for Water Industry clients. This evolving industry requires innovation, dedication, and teamwork to meet clients’ needs. The team has a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements with major water companies across the UK, leading into AMP9 and beyond, securing your career for the next 20 years.

About You:

  • Experience: Urban drainage projects, proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and relevant GIS software.
  • Skills: Strong teamwork, leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance in urban drainage contexts, prioritising exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver wastewater catchment strategies and solutions (hydraulic modelling, analysis, studies, optioneering, cost-benefit analysis) on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Consider solution feasibility and buildability engineering factors.
  • Improve tools, procedures, and processes for efficiency and innovation.
  • Ensure quality outputs and compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Travel to client and/or other offices may be required.
  • Lead a team to build and maintain strong, collaborative client relationships.
  • Line manage project team members, providing leadership, workload planning, technical support, and driving performance, motivation, and career development.
  • Foster relationships and collaboration with wider disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in a relevant technical subject (postgraduate qualifications advantageous).
  • Chartership: Working towards or achieved Chartership for Senior or Principal grades.
  • Affiliations: Membership or working towards membership with professional institutions like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM.
  • Technical Proficiency: MS 365 applications, advanced Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint, GIS Systems (MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS). Experience with FME, Optimatics, python (or similar) advantageous.
