Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join the team at our HQ on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Sheffield.

To take a leading role in the ongoing design & development of electronic products, with a particular focus on liquid-cooled electronics.

Be responsible for designing and implementing electronic systems and components that meet customer requirements in terms of reliability, functionality, testability & cost. Play a key role in the full design lifecycle from initial concept to prototype & production stages. This also includes such tasks as building/reworking/troubleshooting electronics to support prototyping & production, and testing designs to check that they are compliant & fit for purpose. Produce electronics designs to meet requirements; Building, testing, and troubleshooting prototype or production electronics.
Liaise with Software development to ensure smooth integration of HW & SW
Identify and report potential issues related to design of electronics & electronic performance using reporting tools.
Identify & document test cases for New Product Development (design validation testing)
Carry out design validation testing on NPD’s.
Support the definition of project scope & requirements.
Create & manage project plans within the electronics scope.
Mechanics, SW, Thermofluids, Quality
Promote and maintain awareness of the correct handling of electronics
Produce and maintain Electronics and ESD standards within Iceotope
Degree in Electronic Engineering or other relevant subject.
Strong experience in circuit design, simulation, analysis and test with embedded processors, sensors and interfacing electronics
Design for EMC; Experienced in Design for manufacture.

Design, development and test of SMPS.
Knowledge of communications buses, ie. Strong working knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards.
Experience of interfacing with high voltage power electronics
Experience of Power Electronics
