Job description
You will work with the contracting team to ensure provision of an efficient and
reliable Quantity Surveying and Estimating service your role will include:
Pre-tender & tender stage
Costing of projects - office / retail refurbishments and installations
Meeting with clients to conduct site surveys for estimations.
Providing information to measure the financial and physical performance of projects against targets.
Ensuring best utilisation of resources to maximise profitability of projects and contracts.
Development of client/PQS relationships to identify future sources of work.
Involved in the consideration of the viability of potential projects by costing drawings, specifications.
Undertaking take offs/developing schedules of works from drawings, specifications, and client briefings.
Working with designers (both internal and external) and Project Managers to ensure coordination of bids.
Obtaining subcontractor quotations & agreeing schedule of rates.
Preparation of tender returns and estimates for bids.
Assistance with development of programmes and ensuring preliminaries and overheads are covered in tender returns.
Production of fully costed Redbridge job schedules for issue to clients showing full nett costs/overhead and profit working off design drawings.
On site stage
Identifying, quantifying and notifying all project variations.
Providing relevant information for preparation of report / claims to agreed timescales
Attendance at progress meetings to review variations/changes to contract specification/design.
General
Maintaining and developing a subcontractor database.
Working with Projects Director and Interior Designer on Schemes from Inception through to Completion.
Other responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

Professional and articulate
Previous fit out experience
Attributes - Desirable
RICS Qualified (or currently working towards it)
