Sr Director, Dynamics 365 Platform

Responsible for working with business process owners, stakeholders and technical teams to analyze processes, define requirements, review software solutions and provide recommendations related to Troon’s Microsoft Dynamics 365 Accounting and Sales platforms and processes. Serves as a liaison between business process owners, users, technical teams and vendors during the evaluation of system issues and complex business problems in order to implement innovative solutions and process automation.

  • Lead a team of systems analysts to support and develop the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform.
  • Works with Finance and Accounting process and product owners to understand business processes, goals and service enhancement opportunities.
  • Stays abreast of advancements in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Sales applications, emerging technology, evolving regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proactively makes recommendations for system adjustments to ensure compliance and alignment with best practices.
  • Collaborates with business process owners and stakeholders to develop and prioritize service change requests, ensures scope is clearly defined, and assumptions dependencies and measureable goals are clearly identified.
  • Assist with as-is / to-be business process analysis to identify process control gaps, or inefficiencies.
  • Completes root cause analysis, gathers, interprets, and analyzes related process data, and makes data based solution recommendations that have positive organization wide impact.
  • Acting as a platform owner and Dynamics 365 solution expert, interacts with stakeholders to plan, design, build, test and implement new product features and functionality.
  • Ensures cross-functional teams and resources are accountable for project task completion and outcomes.
  • Proactively identifies, communicates mitigates and manages risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Leads unit and integration testing efforts to ensure change has intended results and does not impact other cross functional operational activities in the Accounting, FP&A, and Technology work streams.
  • Develops change migration plans, updates internal product documentation and support notes, and develops standard operating procedures with the assistance of business process owners.
  • Implements change efficiently while ensuring minimal impact to ongoing operations.
  • Patriciates in the development of training materials and end user training.
  • Works collaboratively with vendor/partner teams to identify and resolve product issues.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business information systems, accounting, or other related area.
  • 5 or more years related experience with Financial ERP systems, implementation, processes and procedures.
  • 3 years direct experience and demonstrated proficiency with one or more of the following Microsoft Dynamics 365 Accounting modules or peripherals: GL, AR, AP, Ex-Flow, FA, Cash & Bank, Credit and Collections, System and User Administration

Certificates/Licenses:

  • CPA certification is a plus

  • Must be a problem solver and critical thinker that can challenge preconceived notions, observe, research and interpret data and process results to drive process improvement and innovation.
  • Proven track record of successful involvement in Dynamics 365 accounting software improvements and implementations.
  • Experience and maturity to handle confidential and sensitive data and information.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting systems, business processes, and industry standards
  • Strong project management, planning, change management & organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to distill complex concepts and communicate effectively to both executive sponsors and end users, and technical and non-technical team members and customers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency w Excel and data analytics in general.
