Senior Buyer – Purchasing Team (EMEA)

Due to continued growth and success, our clients' Purchasing department are looking for a Senior Buyer to join their busy team. This role will suit someone with experience in purchasing and buying within an engineering and manufacturing environment looking for their next challenge/new role in a multi-tasking, fast-paced and dynamic team environment, who has excellent administration and organisational skills.The Senior Buyer will source materials, supplies and services at the most favourable terms for the organisation. The individual will support the project teams and manufacturing to ensure on-time completion of projects.The Senior Buyer is responsible for performing thorough and accurate shop release/demand signal evaluation with a keen eye on material specification, certification requirements, and in accordance with customer purchasing restrictions. The Senior Buyer will generate and distribute bid/quote packages and purchase orders, maintaining necessary and often aggressive delivery schedules, and will support enquiries from internal customers, and other tasks as needed.As part of the Purchasing Team, this individual will interface with other staff within and other global locations including engineering, drafting, quality, shipping, receiving, as well as sub-contractors, component suppliers, and others as needed.The successful candidate will be a confident and driven individual that can prioritise their work to meet delivery of tasks and works well in a team. Detail and accuracy are key requirements in this role with the Senior Buyer needing to report accurately on procurement status to a range of project stakeholders.The Senior Buyer will work closely with the Vendor Manager / Supplier Development Engineer to quantify and improve supplier performance.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Purchase of materials in line with approved manufacturers lists according to fabrication drawings and associated bill of materials.Creation of purchase orders in accordance with company procedures and in line with financial processes.

Liaising with supply chain and project managers on relevant projects to ensure understanding of requirements, delivery, budgets.

Identification of best value opportunities whilst keeping to required delivery.

Creation and delivery of project status updates to key stakeholders.

Provide support for amendments and ongoing management of the approved vendor list
