BOM Specialist

Position: BOM Specialist Location: Gloucester Job Type: Permanent My client, a global manufacturing business are on the hunt for a BOM Specialist to join their Supply Chain department. Role and Responsibilities – In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining all relevant data for the Bill of Materials using the ERP System so that all products are qualified to top standards regarding accuracy and consistency. Other responsibilities include: Work with Cross-Functional Department Managers to ensure that the BOM has the correct structure as well as the correct components and quantities in the ERP system Analyse all BOM and routing change requests to ensure that each level of the BOM changed in accordance with the requested change and ensure that the change request is necessary. Understand cost impact of changing BOMs, Routings and Items as well as impact on production use, inventory values, variances, and COGS. Evaluate data and make suggestions or improvements to our existing processes. Experience or Qualifications – Relevant experience with BOM and Routing structuring Experience in ERP systems to create, maintain and use BOMs/Routings Experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment (desirable) Ability to drive change and success within the business Candidates who currently are an BOM Specialist, Senior Materials Planner, Materials Planning Controller or Materials Planner would be suitable for this position.
