The Graduate As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will have at least a bachelor’s degree in psychology, or a related field. From your degree, you will have gained some understanding of additional learning needs and how you can adapt yourself and learning materials to accommodate these. It is essential that the successful candidate is friendly and welcoming, with outstanding communication skills to build strong bonds between themselves and the students. You will be motivated to provide support to pupils to ensure they can fulfil their potential. The Role This SEN Teaching Assistant role will consist of working alongside children aged 3-11, supporting them through the academic year. In this position, you will also be assisting teaching staff in the planning of lessons and the creation of learning materials, using your knowledge of the children and their needs to adapt these to suit the students. You will be aiding pupils in their growth and development in a 1:1 and small group setting to ensure that they develop important social and academic skills.
