Location: Cambridgeshire / Hybrid (2-3 days per week)

Salary: Good salary, depending on level + 27 days holiday + 9% pension

The opportunity to join an established and growing ILS team working on a new product line.

The project / product you will be responsible for:

Supporting critical deployments in the UK and overseas, you will play a pivotal role enhancing best practice, within a dynamic team.

With the size and complexity of this high profile role, it provides the opportunity to shape the future of our business and successful execution of a long-term strategy. In particular, this means to develop efficient systems to optimise Whole Life Cost (WLC) through increased mean time between failure (MTBF), decreased mean time to repair (MTTR), , decreased administrative logistic downtime (ALDT), reduced burden on equipment managers and support staff optimise the level of total cost of ownership (TCO) and operational availability.

The Role and Responsibilities:

  • To undertake the ILS tasks in accordance with Def Stan 00-600 and customer Requirements.
  • To author and develop ILS plans through to Customer acceptance and resulting implementation.
  • To influence the design to optimise to reduce TLC and increase supportability, recommending alternatives where necessary.
  • To undertake Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) tasks in accordance with Def Stan 00-40 and customer requirements.
  • To identify areas of the product design which could impact on the Reliability or Maintainability of that product and to recommend alternatives to ensure R&M targets are attainable.
  • To populate the Logistic Support Analysis Record with the analysis carried out in accordance with Def Stan 00-600. ASD S3000L and customer specifications.
  • To provide support to the Proposals Department in writing ILS plans for tender proposals.
  • To ensure tasks are completed to schedule; with a Customer accepted level of applied ILS; and, within the resources and costs allocated for the task.
  • To support other Integrated Support Activities such as Training Needs Analysis development and information for the development of Technical Publications.

Apply if you have most of the following:

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of MAX MRP System, Defence Standards and Environments.
  • Awareness of military support solutions, skills and capabilities.
  • A strong understanding of Quality Management and Control systems.
  • Knowledge and use of ILS, Supportability and R&M techniques (including Windchill-RELEX software).
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation Requirements.
  • Use computer packages: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PP and Project), MAX MRP System and Windchill (RELEX).
  • Use of ILS software – EAGLE, OmegaPS, OPUS10, SIMLOX or others.
  • Good written and verbal communication to clearly express views and ideas.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff both internally and externally.
