Fitness and Wellbeing Editor
The Independent is looking for a fitness and wellbeing editor to join its eCommerce team on a six-month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be an experienced fitness and wellbeing editor who has sharp writing and editing skills and a strong understanding of the type of content that will perform well with The Independent’s audience. The new fitness and wellbeing editor will have a strong digital news sense and thorough understanding of best SEO practices and work closely with our audience team to ensure that content is performing to its potential, reaching as wide an audience as possible.
A passion and enthusiasm for fitness and wellbeing is crucial.
Work with the broader eCommerce team to assist with the growth of the fitness and wellness vertical
Pitch, write, commission and edit fitness and wellness news, reviews, evergreens, round-ups, features, and first-person
Spot fitness and wellness content gaps and trends
Shoot video as required for social media
Experience editing fitness and wellness section on a digital publication
A knowledge of The Independent as a brand
