Working Pattern: 18 hours per week - Wednesday, Thursday (full days) and Friday mornings
Location: Springfield Project, Playfield House, Stratheden Hospital, Cupar
Springfield Project - multi-disciplinary therapeutic service for children and young people in Fife Council care placements.
The post offers a unique opportunity to be part of a specialist, multi-disciplinary / multi-agency team, providing therapeutic services to children and young people in local authority care throughout Fife.
The post involves working with children and carers and will include direct assessment and intervention, consultation to the care network around the child, and providing training for foster carers.
The post holder will have a shared role in maintaining the Springfield Project's strong links with all relevant agencies, as well as service development and evaluation.
Candidates should have experience working as a Social Worker or Senior Practitioner within a Children and Families team. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of trauma and the impact this has on child attachment and development.
The children and young people referred to the Project have experienced complex trauma, and it is essential that the candidate is able to understand the impact of their experiences and keep their needs central to any work being undertaken by the Project.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to help others to see the world from a child's perspective, and to help carers and professionals adapt the child's environment accordingly.
Strong assessment skills, and analytical report writing is essential.
The candidate should have experience of, or a keen interest in developing experience in facilitating group work and training. Facilitating training and groupwork with parents and carers will be a part of the role.
