The Role:

As a Tax Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the tax compliance function within the firm. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
  • Conducting research on tax legislation and regulations to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
  • Assisting with tax planning and advisory services for clients.
  • Liaising with clients and tax authorities to resolve tax-related queries.
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
  • Collaborating with the broader accounting team to ensure seamless integration of tax compliance with overall financial reporting

The Person :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Tax Technician or a similar role within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of tax legislation and regulations in the UK and Northern Ireland.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional qualifications or progress towards qualifications such as ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) would be advantageous.
