Contractor Supervising Officer / Contractor Manager
As the contractor supervising officer (Contractor Manager) you will have overall responsibility for ensuring all contractors and visitors to site are properly managed, in accordance with local procedures an that contractors work in accordance with their RAMS and all other policies and procedures that are applicable to their works.
Manage Contractors, Sub-contractors, and visitors whilst they conduct works, or visits within the site.
Review RAMS submitted by contractors, ensuring that they are suitable and sufficient to allow the task to be carried out without detriment to health, safety, and wellbeing.
Ensure that contractors are competent to deliver the contracted works and act responsibly whilst on site.
Assess planned works, and identify high risk activities which need further authorisation, or SSoW ensuring that all SSoW are in place and are adhered to.
Conduct pre-start meetings with all contractors and sub-contractors.
Issue compliance paperwork to allow contractors to operate on client site safely and to submitted RAMS.
Ensure all managed contractors are set to work correctly and safely, ensuring all areas of specific risk are reviewed and the correct barriers guarding, or signage are in place pre job start.
Maintain the contractor attendance board and sign in/sign out log.
Ensure all instructions are fully understood by our contractors prior to works commencing.
Carry out Periodic inspections of all contractors works, review and assure their performance.
Inform the infrastructure maintenance manager of any safety or quality issues discovered.
Manage and mentor the CSO team arranging training as required.
Drive operational excellence and meet KPI and SLA performance.
Proactively manage health and safety performance by carrying out regular site inspections and safety walks and engaging with your team and contractors.
Understand and comply with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
You will have a proven track record for managing contractors and subcontractors preferably in Hard FM Commercial / industrial properties.
Must be a confident team player with good communication skills and the ability to instruct and control contractors, intervene, and challenge actions and behaviours if the need arises. Excellent knowledge M&E building services and industry best practice.
Excellent knowledge and track record in QHSE/ Risk management.
IOSH or NEBOSH Certification.
SMSTS.
Asbestos awareness
Working at Height and Fall protection systems training.
