I am partnered with a Mechanical and Electrical sub-contractor providing services across all sectors of the construction industry including Industrial, Logistics, Food, Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Mining, Healthcare, Commercial, Hotel & Leisure, High-End Residential, Public, and Energy. They are seeking an Mechanical Estimator to join their team on an exciting new project based in Wolverhampton, England.

About the Role:

As a Mechanical Estimator you will be integral at contributing to the preparation and management of detailed estimates in the building services sector. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and completeness of tender submissions, maintaining documentation, and participating in project handovers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Tender folder to ensure all documentation is accurately stored.
  • Thoroughly review all tender documents before starting an estimate, addressing any discrepancies between specifications, drawings, and tender summaries.
  • Record and submit all Requests for Information (RFIs) following the correct documentation process.
  • Prepare estimates that align precisely with the tender summary provided.
  • Document any assumptions, clarifications, value engineering options, and conditions.
  • Submit tenders and update SharePoint with all relevant costs.
  • Follow up on tenders and ensure SharePoint is updated accordingly.
  • Continuously develop your skills according to your agreed training plan.
  • Use Ireland and UK Terms and Conditions when submitting tenders.
  • Attend Tender Handover Meetings when a project is awarded to ensure a smooth transition.

Requirements:

  • Proven mechanical experience as an Estimator in the building services sector.
  • Mechanical degree or relevant qualification
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with the wider Estimating team and other departments.
  • Must be based in the UK
