Job Description: Port Health Officer
Your main responsibilities as a Port Health Officer:

Conduct inspections and enforce health regulations across the port, ensuring compliance with national and international legislation.
Advise on and take enforcement actions in response to port health issues, ensuring public and environmental health standards are maintained.
Lead and develop specialized areas within Port Health, keeping up to date with changes in legislation and best practices.
Represent the Port Health Service in liaising with stakeholders, including government bodies, businesses, and the public.
Assist in the execution of the Port Health Service Business Plan by planning and undertaking inspections, interventions, and casework.
Draft enforcement notices and advise on legal proceedings when necessary.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Health, recognized by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
Postgraduate qualification relevant to Port Health work, such as Food Safety.
Extensive knowledge of food and feed controls, public and environmental health legislation, and border control post operations.
Experience in Port Health and Environmental Health practices.
UK driving license.
