Administration Officer - School

Job Summary

The Administration Officer will play a crucial role in the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of administrative and IT-related tasks. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and parents.

PAY - £100 - £130 per day

Key Responsibilities

  1. General Administration : Handle day-to-day administrative tasks such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.
  2. Communication : Act as the first point of contact for parents, students, staff, and visitors. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and relay messages promptly.
  3. Student Records : Maintain up-to-date student records, manage student admissions, transfers, and departures.
  4. Staff Support : Assist teaching staff with administrative tasks, such as preparing letters to parents, managing school trips, and ordering classroom supplies.
  5. Meetings : Organise and schedule meetings, send reminders, prepare meeting agendas, and take minutes.
  6. Financial Administration : Assist with school budget management, process invoices, and maintain financial records.
  7. Health and Safety : Ensure compliance with school health and safety policies, maintain accident records, and coordinate first aid arrangements.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00pm. Some flexibility may be required to support school events.

Location

The school is located in Birmingham. The successful candidate should be able to commute to the school daily.
